About Sonoran Jade
Rooted in the landscapes and wildlife of the Sonoran Desert, these carvings explore form, movement, and structure at a deeply detailed level—often described as microstructural realism.
From functional instruments and wearable pieces to illuminated sculptures, every work is created as a one-of-a-kind object meant to be held, worn, and experienced. Sonoran Jade is not about mass production or trend—it is about material, craftsmanship, and the quiet discovery of what each stone can become
Sonoran Jade is the work of artist Nathan Scholten, a jade carver dedicated to bringing life, precision, and presence to one of the world’s most revered stones. Working primarily in jadeite, each piece is carved by hand using traditional lapidary techniques refined over more than a decade of experience.
